a snowy day

It snowed on Thursday, which isn't always welcome to me, because driving in the snow is scary and it just makes everything colder. Thankfully, it was just wet snow, so driving wasn't a problem and by the next day it was all gone. But I knew I had to take advantage of the weather situation so after work I went and filmed this little video. Hope you enjoy it :)

Snowy Days

Woohoo, me in a cute outfit with snow on my boots! I kind of wonder how much longer these outfit posts will continue, but I will hopefully still do a few a month. Who knows? It's funny how this blog totally started out as wearing a cute outfit a day (and I look back and a lot of those outfits are not even that cute haha!) and has evolved into something else. I'm not sure what, a lifestyle blog? A blog of my thoughts? A blog of lists of things I love? Probably a combination of everything.

Honestly, I hope to be more real on this blog. Post more pictures than just ones of me dressed nicely, because I promise you I am much more than that. A lot of days I don't dress like this--I just wear jeans and a cute top with my grasshopper shoes (I think I will write a post on those later, because they definitely deserve one). The other day I posted an update about all the stuff going on in my life, but it was really about most of the good stuff. My life is good but it's not perfect, and I hope to blog more about that. About my struggles...about the not so real stuff.

Seriously though. I'm a really weird girl who does love fashion but also has a crazy obsession with Carrie Underwood. I'm a lot of other things too that you probably don't know. Hopefully people will be able to see that better when I write on this blog.

Haha and if we're being real....then let me just tell you that when I threw the snow in the below photo, my hands were freezing. But I got a cute picture out of it so I guess it was worth it. :)

Springtime in Winter

Ohhh I just love love LOVE this outfit and these pictures! Aren't they great?! My uncle is a pretty good photographer I'd say.

Pretty much this outfit should have been worn during spring or summer. But I wanted to wear it because I love this skirt and how the yellow cardigan looks with it! So you get spring in winter. We can all use a little sunshine during these snowy days, right? :)

Anyways, guess what. School starts tomorrow. Yay? I'm starting new classes for my major which makes me excited but scared because I don't know what they'll be like..and also I moved into my new apartment. My roommates are great and it's so nice here. Moving out was pretty much the best decision I ever made! Good luck to all you college folks and you poor kids still in public school going back to school tomorrow!

Winter Wonderland

Snow is EVERYWHERE! It's absolutely wonderful! It was so cold outside but I asked Carina if she'd take my pictures outside because it just looks so pretty. And these pictures look great, don't you think?

Since I came home in such a rush yesterday (read the whole blizzard story HERE), I kind of just threw some clothes in my hamper and decided that making it home fast and safe was more important than outfit making. So I borrowed Carina's cute pink striped shirt-dress and then made an outfit from there. Random thought: How do you guys think up your outfits? For me it's usually picking one piece of clothing and then revolving everything around that one emphasis. Just wondering.. Anyways, the rest of the clothes were mine and the outfit came together, and I was pretty happy with the end result. I like how the white matches the snow too. :) I will probably borrow Carina's clothes every day this week, so thanks ahead of time, Carina!!

Oh and I went shopping today and got some great deals (like Steve Madden heals for $10?!?!?!) and can't wait to wear them. Now...I am off to play in the snow again! (maybe ha)

I am home and it snowed today! Snow that actually stayed on the ground haha. Gracie kept begging all day to go out and play in the snow but no one really felt like it and I didn't have any winter clothes or boots because I just brought enough clothes for the weekend. But I took my dad's nice camera outside with Gracie and took a bunch of cute pictures of her while she just had a blast running around and throwing snow balls. Isn't she a cutie? :)

Can you believe we already got snow?! That's Utah weather for ya.. :) Usually I don't like snow before thanksgiving, but snow pretty much means Christmas is getting closer which means Christmas break which means two and a half wonderful weeks with my family! I cannot wait. Today Carina took pictures of me with my dad's nicer camera. It was fun! I can't believe I didn't think of using that a lot sooner, but now I'll use it on the weekends and breaks when I come home.

This is probably more of a summery outfit but I didn't really plan for the weather when I brought these clothes home, and I don't really care because I'm used to the cold since I've lived in Utah my whole life. I like these colors together though. I got this dress over the weekend at Forever 21 and I tried pairing a lot of other cardigans with it but nothing really worked except for this one. I think this one was good because the blue didn't drown out the bright pink and it also lengthens the dress, which is nice for a girl who is only 5'2". :)

And now, I'm going to go back to listening to Christmas music and maybe get some hot chocolate. I'm totally in the Christmas mood right now...26 days to Christmas break and 33 to Christmas...CAN'T WAIT! :)

So...have any of you heard the new Taylor Swift album, "Speak Now"? Oh my goodness. I love it!!! If you want to buy it, you can get all the mp3s on amazon.com for $4! Go buy it..the songs are wonderful! I haven't even listened to them all yet, but Taylor never ceases to make me proud. :)

In other news, it snowed lots last night. So half our power was out this morning and snow was on the trees. It looked absolutely beautiful and it wasn't too cold. The snow melted a few hours later though. :(

I'm loving my rainboots. :) Ok and let's face it, I just love boots! Wearing them with a dress made me happy. They were good for today too because the ground was all wet from the snow. I liked my outfit today because it was fun and comfy and cute! Well..I have to go now to class...don't forget to follow me and like the page on facebook!! Thanks :)
