a snowy day

It snowed on Thursday, which isn't always welcome to me, because driving in the snow is scary and it just makes everything colder. Thankfully, it was just wet snow, so driving wasn't a problem and by the next day it was all gone. But I knew I had to take advantage of the weather situation so after work I went and filmed this little video. Hope you enjoy it :)

Rain Boot Weather

Here in Utah...winter weather has come a little early. The day I wore this get-up, it rained all day and even snowed a little. SNOWED! Yes. Welcome to my state. I only wish when I said my state that I meant California....ah, a girl can dream, right?

I got my rainboots from Target last year...and I love them. :) They keep my feet warm and dry. I learned freshman year of college after owning only one pair of boots that got water in them constantly that there was only one wait to walk around at school in the rain and snow with some sensible style. Rain boots. Aka life savers!

At least life is still fairly happy regardless of the rain. :)

P.S. I also looove my coat too! I got it for $7 at a DownEast/Modbe sale. It's warm and very cute. Although two of the buttons already came off. :( DownEast and their companies aren't always known for making the best quality stuff unfortunately. That's why if I buy something from them (not the basics, like the camisoles and tees--those are fine), it's on sale. I don't wanna spend $50 for a dress that is going to fall apart the first time I wear it! Don't get me wrong...DownEast great, but I do just have a few (a lot) of frustrations with them....frustrations that I'll save for a later date. ;)

Oh and I decided to make this week Harry Potter week, because my roommate and I are throwing a Harry Potter birthday party (both our birthdays were last week) this Friday that is going to be awesome! So I'm in quite the Harry Potter mood more than usual. I'll give you a Harry Potter video or picture every day this week! And then after that I think I'm officially naming Wizard Wednesday on my blog to celebrate Harry Potter every week cuz I love it so much. :D

Miss Photographer

Sorry there are so many pictures! Okay, let's be honest, I'm not really sorry, because I had SO MUCH FUN taking these pictures! I found the railroad tracks and once I got started taking pictures I couldn't stop. It was super fun! I will never be a photographer, but I do love taking pictures and doing photography, so this blog is a great outlet for me to let that out every once in a while. I love the vintage feel of these pictures along with kind of the preppy look of the outfit. {Oh, the cardigan is black, although it may appear blue.}

The weather has been so perfect the past few days! Yesterday it didn't rain and there was a slight breeze but I felt fine in this outfit. And guess what?! If it's even possible, the weather is going to get perfect-er! Cuz it's going to be above 60 degrees today and tomorrow. And that is just simply amazing I tell you.

I've been into finding different artists than what I usually listen to (ahem, Carrie Underwood, cough cough) so that I can become more "musically cultured" and have more a range of music so that there will always be something for me to listen to for my mood. I just feel like I find genres and artists I like and then stick with just them. But there is so much music out there that I feel like I'm missing out on! Anyways, Mindy Gledhill has become one of my recent finds in artists. I particularly like the song called, "Whole Wide World" (I've been listening to it all day and it's still in my head!). I like songs that are inspirational and about dreams, because they just, well, inspire me! I want to go do something great after listening to them. This song does that to me, so I thought I'd share it with you. :) {Pssst....the family featured in here and the two little girls running in the front are Stephanie Nielson's family from NieNie Dialogues! Cool!!}

I'm Thankful for Blizzards

A blizzard hit Utah!! Yep, it was headed south from Idaho and apparently it's one of the biggest storms Utah's had for years. Soooo....BYU closed at 3 today and is closed all day tomorrow, which means I got off work early today and don't have to go at all tomorrow! I was going to wait to go home tomorrow, but I decided to hurry and go home, throw some clothes together and then drive home and beat the storm. And no joke, snow started coming down the minute I stepped out of the car. I got really lucky and just barely missed having to drive in the storm. But then I had to get my sister Sidney from her ballet class and it was super hard to see. It was cool to watch outside and my little sister had her eyes glued to the window the whole night because she was so excited about the snow. So that's why I'm grateful for blizzards. :)

You probably think I'm insane after hearing that story and see me wearing a skirt. But honestly, I'm used to the cold and my legs don't really get that cold easily. Plus--haha this silly I'm telling you this--but I wore biker shorts under my skirt so my legs were pretty warm. It's really good idea for winter because then it still lets me wear skirts. But other than the skirt, it was a warm outfit! The boots are furry on the inside. And also I think these colors are very seasonal which I love.

Life is LoCo :/

Dang, it's been waayyyy too long since I posted...oops!!! Sorry, the college life has got me up and running from dance parties to finals to warm weather to boys. Yep, I'm very very busy. But I decided to take a break from studying for my finals today and blog. Because I can't give up on this thing yet..haha.

Life has been so stressful. So many good and bad things have been happening.

Bad: My laptop broke down on Monday. RIGHT BEFORE FINALS AND WHEN I HAD TO WRITE AN ESSAY!!!

Good: I have great roomies that let me use their laptops and my wonderful father let me use another one of our family's laptops while he's fixing mine.

Bad: I have 3 finals this weekend. :(

Good: I'm gonna be home for the summer for good in a week and a day, and after Monday, I will be living a free life.

Bad: I get distracted WAY too easily.

Good: Because of this, I baked two cakes this weekend and cleaned our whole kitchen yesterday.

Bad: I am sooooo sore.

Good: I've been working out pretty regularly with BFF who's on the track team and I've been learning to hurdle and lift. I lifted 75 lbs yesterday! :D

Bad: I watched Glee instead of studying.

Good: I got to watch Glee!

Bad: I have work every morning at 7:50 and I'm soooooo tired.

Good: $$$$$

Bad: BOYS ARE DUMB!!! >:(

Good: I am single and loving it and partying every night with my best friends and having the time of life!!! Oh yeah! :D :D

Anyways, that's my life. This is how it goes. There are good and bad things, but it just depends on if I'm looking at the glass half full or half empty. I'm just gonna try as hard as I can to live my life free, happy, full of joy, and just for me! I would post pictures, but they're on my other laptop.
