Current Music I'm Loving Right Now

1. ZZ Ward and her album "'Til the Casket Drops." Holy cow, this girl has an amazing voice. She has a style kind of similar to Adele but a little more upbeat and blues-y. I love this whole album. Some of my favorite songs of hers include: "If I Could Be Her," "Last Love Song," "Put the Gun Down," and "'Til the Casket Drops." Seriously, go listen on spotify and buy on itunes if you really like it. And the chances are high that you will really like it. :)

(Sorry, the "Last Love Song" video has a lot of kissing--I couldn't find any other video with the song!)

2. P!nk's album "The Truth About Love." A lot of the songs on here are explicit, so if you don't like that, I'd recommend listening to the clean versions of the songs, which is what I did. Fav songs: "Beam Me Up," "Try," "True Love," "Just Give Me a Reason," and "The Great Escape."



3. Any of Glee's music from this season. I am a watcher of Glee and while I think the show is great, I love love love the music, and I think this season they've really done a phenomenal job with it. Everyone has amazing voices and I love the emotion that is behind every song. Favorites are: "Give Your Heart a Break," "Don't Dream It's Over," "Mine" (love that one SO much), "The Scientist," "Let's Have a Kiki/Turkey Lurkey Time," "Holding Out for a Hero," "Barely Breathing," "Don't Speak," "You Drive Me Crazy/Crazy" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." That's a ton of songs, but they really are so good. In my opinion, the episode with the best music this season was "The Break-Up." Super sad episode but really good music.




4. Lindsey Stirling and her new album. If you haven't listened to this girl's amazing music, you definitely need to! She's done something revolutionary with her violin music, taking something that is normally very classical and making it super techno and cool. Favorites of hers are "Moon Trance," "Electric Daisy Violin," and "Shadows."



5. Fifth Harmony! Anyone watch the X-Factor? If you do, you know who these five adorable and way talented girls are. They're a group that were formed on the X-Factor and every week would get better and better. The competition's over now and they placed 3rd, which is totally amazing. They don't have any of their own songs yet but favorites of theirs are "Anything Could Happen," "Impossible," and "Anytime You Need a Friend." They are definitely one of my new favorite artists because they are so talented and I love listening to their music.


(btw, the title on this second one calls them a different name because they didn't start out with 5th harmony as their name. Just an fyi :))

6. And let's just add some Carrie Underwood songs because when am I not listening to her? Current CD in my car is Carnival Ride and some of my current favorites of hers are: "Flat on the Floor," "Blown Away," "Fix You" (Coldplay cover), and "Change."

It's that Time...

It's finals week..AH! It's all everyone can talk, facebook, and blog about. And since that's so...I don't really want to write about that. I just want to say how grateful I am for my life. It's really an amazing one. I'm in a place that I never thought I'd be at and I'm friends with people that I never could have planned on being friends with. My life is so wonderful and I'm really happy. There are some hard times, but I wouldn't trade those for anything, because they bring me the good.

And besides it being finals time, it's also the Christmas season. Yesterday I had a great chance to volunteer with one of my friends at Barnes & Noble to provide free gift-wrap and collect donations for charity. And then I watched the Glee Christmas show later and basically, it just really reminded me that Christmas is all about serving others. It's not about getting gifts and it's not even really about giving all the best gifts either. It is about giving, but it's about giving love and spreading joy. My goal this Christmas season is to serve someone who I wouldn't have normally served and someone who really needs it. It's not much, but it's something. I wanna challenge you to do it with me too! Find someone to help or someone to love. And if you do it, please email me your stories, I'd love to hear about it and maybe even share them on here. Also more than that, I want to give back and I want to serve all year round, because it's not like homeless people are only around on Christmas or people in third world countries only starve on Christmas. It happens all year round, and I hope to be able to help in some way for that.

Happy finals week, and merry Christmas in 12 days! Remember why we celebrate Christmas and remember how we should be celebrating it. That's the stuff that really matters :) This song they sang in Glee warms my heart and made me get all choked up while watching it...hope you like it too!

Trying to Stay Sane and Happy

I would probably be so incredibly miserable here at BYU if it weren't for these things that keep me happy...

~Dancing and stretching every day (though I pulled a muscle and got a killer bruise from it, and still have a kind of sprained ankle)

~GREAT friends such as: Laura, Leesa, Christine, Kelly, Chelsey, Hollie, Megan, Jenna, Emily, Sam, and anyone else who has been an absolutely wonderful friend to me since I've moved back here to BYU. I seriously love you guys and don't know what I'd do without you. :)

~Last but not least, my wonderful, amazing, spectacular, loving family who I miss so much every single day and can't wait to see again in 9 days (yep, I'm counting)!!



In other happy news, last night we celebrated Kelly's (one of my roomies from last year) 2oth birthday! It was super fun. We went to Chelsey's apartment to watch Glee and afterward, Hollie came, and we ate cupcakes (made by me), brownies (made by Chels), and ice cream, as well as opening presents to celebrate. I love and miss my last year roommates SO much so I'm glad we can still hang out together lots. I am totally myself around them, which is great. :)

Oh ya, and that bruise, I mentioned earlier..I took pictures. It's HUGE. I tore a muscle or something. Careful though, my mom almost passed out looking at this photo. Personally, I think it's kina cool...whatev though.. :)

summer lovin, i'm havin a BLAST!

Not sure what to write because my life hasn't been too busy. But its been nice. Work takes up most of my life, though I am off at night which is nice. I still enjoy my job and love how there is something new every day. 2 year old kids are wonderful. :)

Something bittersweet: Season 1 of Glee ended last week! It was sooooo great. It's like the only show I follow and I'm kind of obsessed. The music is breathtaking. If you haven't heard any of it, I would definitely recommend taking a listen. Here's a sample of some of their music they sang in the finale. Oh goodness i LOVE it.

Amazing right? :) :) I can't wait for season 2 in the fall!!

Just this past weekend, I had fun going playing in Holladay with some of my high school yearbook friends (one of them is renting a house there). She has a pool and we were gonna go swimming but of course it was cold and rainy. So we just had random fun playing around the town. It was great.

I also went to a friend from BYU's farewell with my great friend Brookie J...haha we'll miss Shawn and all the crazy things we did to him. ;)

Life is LoCo :/

Dang, it's been waayyyy too long since I posted...oops!!! Sorry, the college life has got me up and running from dance parties to finals to warm weather to boys. Yep, I'm very very busy. But I decided to take a break from studying for my finals today and blog. Because I can't give up on this thing yet..haha.

Life has been so stressful. So many good and bad things have been happening.

Bad: My laptop broke down on Monday. RIGHT BEFORE FINALS AND WHEN I HAD TO WRITE AN ESSAY!!!

Good: I have great roomies that let me use their laptops and my wonderful father let me use another one of our family's laptops while he's fixing mine.

Bad: I have 3 finals this weekend. :(

Good: I'm gonna be home for the summer for good in a week and a day, and after Monday, I will be living a free life.

Bad: I get distracted WAY too easily.

Good: Because of this, I baked two cakes this weekend and cleaned our whole kitchen yesterday.

Bad: I am sooooo sore.

Good: I've been working out pretty regularly with BFF who's on the track team and I've been learning to hurdle and lift. I lifted 75 lbs yesterday! :D

Bad: I watched Glee instead of studying.

Good: I got to watch Glee!

Bad: I have work every morning at 7:50 and I'm soooooo tired.

Good: $$$$$

Bad: BOYS ARE DUMB!!! >:(

Good: I am single and loving it and partying every night with my best friends and having the time of life!!! Oh yeah! :D :D

Anyways, that's my life. This is how it goes. There are good and bad things, but it just depends on if I'm looking at the glass half full or half empty. I'm just gonna try as hard as I can to live my life free, happy, full of joy, and just for me! I would post pictures, but they're on my other laptop. So look at facebook for those...and if you're not my friend, then add me! :D
