Sparkles with a Skirt

I might have worn this outfit back in December....oops. But I had to post it because it was such a fun outfit. I love my sparkly H&M sweater paired with this happy thrifted skirt (I took it in and made it shorter after buying it from DI). And boots. They're just fun too.

So I'm still going to keep posting on this blog for a while longer for certain reasons. I'm not sure when I will fully transfer everything to my other blog. But if you just want to follow one, I'll be posting these same posts on my other one as well plus more on that one, so I'd recommend following it if you want the most updates. This is my fashion-only blog :)

And it's Friday! Tomorrow night my roommates and I might be going to this thing on campus called the YBall. It's a formal attire event but free, which is super cool. If we do go, I'll be wearing a beautiful coral formal dress that I made so stay tuned!

Color Block

Loved this outfit! It's colorful and simple. Perfect for me because I never do anything too extreme. I like how yellow and blue look together as well. They compliment each other perfectly.

Today has been a dizzy day, mostly because I've been sick. It took a lot of strength to get me to go to class and work today, but I'm glad I did. Then I came home and took a nap. It was nice. Honestly, I get sick ALL the time, and it's probably because I don't eat healthy enough or get enough sleep. Either way, it stinks! I'm kind of used to it, but that doesn't make it much more bearable every time I'm sick. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow. Tell me: what do you people who never get sick do that makes you so immune? Share your knowledge!

P.S. Something I will be discussing at a later time, but is anyone watching the series Once Upon a Time? AH! It's soooo good! Man I'm hooked and you should be too! Go watch the first episode on hulu and become addicted to my new favorite show.

It's that Time...

It's finals week..AH! It's all everyone can talk, facebook, and blog about. And since that's so...I don't really want to write about that. I just want to say how grateful I am for my life. It's really an amazing one. I'm in a place that I never thought I'd be at and I'm friends with people that I never could have planned on being friends with. My life is so wonderful and I'm really happy. There are some hard times, but I wouldn't trade those for anything, because they bring me the good.

And besides it being finals time, it's also the Christmas season. Yesterday I had a great chance to volunteer with one of my friends at Barnes & Noble to provide free gift-wrap and collect donations for charity. And then I watched the Glee Christmas show later and basically, it just really reminded me that Christmas is all about serving others. It's not about getting gifts and it's not even really about giving all the best gifts either. It is about giving, but it's about giving love and spreading joy. My goal this Christmas season is to serve someone who I wouldn't have normally served and someone who really needs it. It's not much, but it's something. I wanna challenge you to do it with me too! Find someone to help or someone to love. And if you do it, please email me your stories, I'd love to hear about it and maybe even share them on here. Also more than that, I want to give back and I want to serve all year round, because it's not like homeless people are only around on Christmas or people in third world countries only starve on Christmas. It happens all year round, and I hope to be able to help in some way for that.

Happy finals week, and merry Christmas in 12 days! Remember why we celebrate Christmas and remember how we should be celebrating it. That's the stuff that really matters :) This song they sang in Glee warms my heart and made me get all choked up while watching it...hope you like it too!

Let Youtube Do the Talking

Um....hi! Life is busy...full of tests, papers, sewing, socializing, and barbie clothes making! It's all lots of fun but it all means I have little time to spare. However, I have had time this week to watch these two AH-mazing youtube videos.

The first is a song from Glee. Yes, I watch the show, but I guarantee that even if you don't watch the show, you will LOVE this song. It's a mash-up of two Adele songs, Someone Like You and Rumour Has It. If you do anything in your life today, just watch and listen to this song. I can't even count how many times I've heard it in the past week...it's incredible!

The second is a movie trailer for the Hunger Games movie! Man oh man, sometime you worry about books being made into movies, especially really good books. But I have a lot of hope and faith for this one. The trailer looks incredible and the casting is awesome! Whether you've read the books or not (which, btw, you should read the books), just watch this trailer and be excited for March!

A Tribute

So I actually wore this outfit back in March as well, on March 10 to be exact, which was indeed Carrie Underwood's birthday! Don't worry, I did celebrate with friends and it was wonderful. :D I just have to say as I have said many times before that Carrie Underwood is incredible and amazing. I am in love with her voice and she's definitely one of my heroes in life. I want to meet her more than anything in the world! I saw this video and cried. It's pretty much amazing. Watch it and then tell me you don't like Carrie Underwood. I'll bet you can't do it (and you better not insult CU on my watch!!).

Amazing, right? Yeah, told ya so. I have to meet her someday. I will!

Forever Ago

So this outfit pictured is actually something I wore back in March! I just never posted it because I guess I got lazy haha. Surprise.. ;) The skirt I'm wearing is one of my favorite skirts of all time! I made it from an old dress I got at DI (a thrift store in Utah) and I really love how it turned out. The floral pattern is just beautiful and I think it's so cute. :)

Not having classes has been the best thing of my life. I'm sooooo excited for this summer, because I'll be working, but I'll really be having time for me, which is what I need right now. I'm going to take lots of pictures, read a ton of books, sew cute things, go shopping, write all the time, dance, and take up new hobbies like swimming, video making, and family history. And just having lots of fun. I really want to be happy and it's definitely gonna happen this summer. Ahh..I'm so excited!!

I was pretty happy while I was taking these pictures. Okay...super happy. :D So I was like super smiley while taking them. It was just...a good day. :) We all have those, right?? :)

I actually didn't like this outfit a ton as I was wearing it but now looking at it in the pictures I like it a ton more. Especially the pink! It's such a perfect bright color. :) Do I have to say anything else about the outfit? Because I don't really want to haha. Honestly I just don't know what else to say!

Bummer Deal

I got a not super great score on a test today. It wasn't terrible but I definitely wasn't happy with it and this semester has just been stinking with grades because I don't think I'm gonna be getting the grades I want. :( So that's why I'm frowning in some of the pictures. I took these right after my test so I was still in the epitome of my disappointment ha.

I felt like such a kid in this outfit. It was just pretty comfy and fun and cute. I haven't worn a jacket for a while but it rained today so I felt it was necessary. I'm glad I did because I would have FROZEN if I'd only had a light cardigan. Plus I always wear cardigans. Time for a change!

Want to hear what I'm listening to right now? BYU does devotionals every week on Tuesday and there's this one by Jon Huntsman that was given last year. I remember just being so motivated and moved after hearing it and I still remember it now so that's what I'm listening to. I need something motivational right now haha. If you wanna listen to it or download it go here. I would highly recommend it! It's not even that spiritual, just really motivational. :) K I'm gonna go to bed now. Ha you'll read this in the morning and think I'm weird. I hope this post doesn't sound crazy cuz I'm half-asleep writing it. :D

In My Bedroom

Yes, these pictures were taken in my room late last night because I forgot to take my pictures anywhere else! But that's okay..surprisingly the pictures turned out totally fine! Maybe my bedroom will become my new hotspot for pictures, ya? Haha ;)

Basically I really loved this outfit. I had to wear blue because of the BYU game (yeah Cougars! Sweet Sixteen!!!! Jimmer!). And also I wanted to wear a skirt but then just decided to roll up the jeggings so they were shorter and better for the warmer weather we've been getting. I really felt fashionable, comfortable, and natural in this outfit, which is a perfect combo, let me tell ya!

Oh and guess what, I got to see my family today! They were coming back from St. George after my brother's gymnastics meet--which he did awesome at btw--and then they picked me up from work. We watched the game together at Malawi's Pizza (super good food, and it was healthy, AND for every meal you buy they donate a meal to kids in Africa! yeah!) which was way fun, especially including the fact that we won! It was so so so so sooooo sad to say goodbye to my family though. I haven't been able to go home a ton this semester which really stinks. I might have cried a little (or a lot..) when they drove away. I love them so much! I can't wait for two weeks when I'll get to go home for a whole weekend. Yay!

It's Playtime!

I took pictures at a playground yesterday! Fun right? Ha, well yes it was. Except it got a little stressful when my camera batteries suddenly died and I didn't have enough pictures. So I drove home super fast, got some more batteries (I know, I'm dumb for not keeping them with me) and rushed back to the park and took a few more pictures in like five minutes before I had to go to work. Which I did make it to on time, thank you very much. :D (sidenote: It was just a little cold taking these pictures. Just a little. That's all)

So that's my story. And now I have to go and study because I have 3 tests to take tomorrow. And as much as I hate studying on Sundays...well it has to happen every once in a while. Sadly.

And can you believe the 30 for 30 is almost OVER?! I can hardly wait! Thursday will be the happiest day of my life. Or one of them. That I can guarantee ;)

Ladylike

Well, hi. It's the start of a new week and I really have no inspirational words for these fingers to type.

I liked this outfit. Except for one thing...no jewelry. :P I completely forgot to wear any jewelry with this and I was so mad at myself! I'm a big lover of necklaces. But thankfully I had a belt and I think the outfit was cute enough that it was okay without any jewelry (still wish I had worn some). So to make up for it, I might be wearing a lot of necklaces in tomorrow's post. Just a little sneak preview. Ha ha.

Other than that, I do not know what to write. I love skirts. I might end up wearing a different one every day up until the 30 for 30 which starts in a week! I can't wait (although no shopping for 30 days will be the biggest challenge for me I believe)! So yeah, expect to see lots of different skirts/dresses in the upcoming days, because then for a month I won't be able to wear most of them. Sad. But seriously...CAN'T WAIT for the 30 for 30. :)
