Easter 2012

I went home for Easter and had the greatest time ever. for one thing, my outfit was wonderful! The picture below is too bright but it was a bow blouse with that cute floral skirt and also my nude heels that I always wear. Right after church we kept up the tradition of picture taking. Luckily it was nice weather so we could take photos outside. Oh and we got a family photo but it's on my dad's camera so I'll have to get that later.

I tried my hand at some photography taking pictures of all the kids (my dad took my picture)..

After we took pictures, we gathered up some costumes and videography stuff to make Cee Ryle's video for student body officer. We filmed it outside of his junior high. I must say, it turned out pretty hilarious and I'd totally give you the link except it's on the school website and you need a login to see it. When I get home this weekend, I get the copy from my sister and post it.

Also per tradition, Carina, Sidney, and I filled up Easter eggs and scattered them around the yard for the younger kids to have a fun egg hunt. They loved it of course!

Funny story: So when my mom and her siblings were kid, my grandparents (her parents) would always have them do funny picture poses like touching a leaf on a tree or something else interesting. So I was about to take a picture of my grandma and then jokingly and completely kidding my mom said, "Oh where's a tree so she can touch a leaf in the picture?" And then my grandma was completely serious like, "Oh yes! There's one!" So we got this leaf picture that actually turned out to be a really good picture and a beautiful one of my grandma. The whole branch holding thing doesn't look too bad here but it's still pretty funny. ;)

For Easter dinner we had ham and funeral potatoes, which was a real treat since we usually don't have the "traditional" Easter dinner in my house all the time. Man, was it a good meal! For dessert we made Resurrection Rolls (also a tradition) and had delicious cobbler made by my lovely aunt, Zildy. It was one of the best Easters ever, the weather was perfect and everyone was in great spirits. I love being home and being able to spend time with my family. It's always lots of fun. :)

Me and My Cool Sibs

Let me just brag about my wonderful siblings for a moment. There's five of us me, Carina, Sidney, Cee Ryle, and Gracie. Carina, Sidney, and I have all taken ballet since the beginning of time (okay, since we were each 5 we started taking and I quit senior year of high school but then I took classes here at byu), Cee Ryle does gymnastics, and Gracie has started gymnastics and is gonna start ballet in the fall. And she's cute anyways.

Well, I went to Carina and Sidney's ballet recitals this past weekend and it totally made me want to dance again. I really miss it so much and it's something that I'm truly passionate about. I just LOVE to dance more than anything. Probably more than fashion too (or maybe the same).

And so there's this thing called The Ballerina Project on facebook that is super cool and they have all these different pictures of ballerinas everywhere! Go check it out, it's amazing! So I decided to get my siblings, my dad's camera, and the tripod and go take some super sweet pictures. And we did. My sisters and I were going to take pictures with our pointe shoes on Sunday, but it rained so we couldn't. :( Another day I suppose.

But anyways, here is the result! (I'm in the green, Carina's in the blue stripes, and Sidney's in the purple--and hopefully you know that Cee Ryle's the boy in the blue ;))

Sorry for the photo overload but I just love all the pictures so much! And I love my family more than I can bear! The weekend was one of the best and just so fun. I'm so glad that I have siblings who are also my best friends and who I can have so much fun with! They are absolutely wonderful!!!

Oh and Carina loves making movies with everyone and she's pretty good at it! These are two of her videos that she's made. One of them is an infomercial that is way funny and the other is a scary movie trailer (which I think looks pretty legit for her limited materials).

This Dress=Pure Happiness :D

So this is the dress! I am oh so proud of it...its my little baby or something hehe. I designed it and sewed it all by myself..even without a pattern! I am so impressed that it even turned out ha. But now that it did, I'm afraid I might wear it every chance I get! And that's ok. :)

Do you guys have something that you're just really proud of because it came from your talent? Like maybe a great work of art, or a dance you choreographed, or even like a cool hair do or lego sculpture. haha. Well, this dress is that for me. I feel SO proud. And it makes me so happy!!! Plus I got a lot of compliments on it which made me feel good because I was getting complimented on something that I made.

It's just a really happy dress and I'm so happy it turned out cute. You could say you hate it and I wouldn't care (well, I would a little bit probably) because I love it that much.

P.P.S. I had the most wonderful weekend! It was a long one at home and I spent it all with my family. I saw both of my sisters' ballet recitals and they both did such a great job! It made me miss ballet a lot so I decided I'm going to dance again because I love it. We went out and took a bunch of cool pictures of ballet stuff and my brother does gymnastics so he did some cool things too. I will share soon..maybe tomorrow?
