Being Happy Now

Welp, it's Friday. Thank goodness! I get to go home for the weekend and go to two receptions, one of which Katri talked about. I also get to see Kung Fu Panda 2 (sorry, the other day I said it was Cars 2, my bad ha) for free before it comes out! Yeah baby! I loooove receptions and free movies. I can't wait to show you the dress I'm wearing today. :)

Anyways, you what really stinks sometimes? Being single. Yeah. I am going to say now that I've never kissed anyone or had a boyfriend. :( And sometimes it's okay, but most of the time, it can be really hard, because here in Provo, it seems like everyone is in a relationship, engaged, married, or breaking up. Ugh! It's so frustrating! I guess I just want it to be my turn. Is there anyone else out there in my same position? All the single ladies? ;) I guess the lesson I'm trying to learn through all of this is how to be happy where I'm at. Because I know that if I'm not happy now being single, then I'm not going to be happy if/when I date someone. I've been learning a lot lately that life could be absolutely wonderful and everything could be going right, but if you aren't happy with yourself, then you're not going to be happy. And that's a fact. So my goal is to be happy right now in my current situation. I'll keep you updated. Until then...happy Friday!

Merry Christmas!!

The day came! It's Christmas! I look forward to this day every year. And guess what Santa brought me?! A sewing machine! I'm sooooo excited to use it, you have no idea. I already have a dress I want to fix, I can use it for my flowers, and I also want to make a circle skirt with this tutorial. And I'm taking a sewing class next semester in school so it will be perfect to use! I also got some other great stuff, like two new coats--one black and one purple. I got a new pair of black boots and some black and white oxfords (also known as Saddle shoes)! I remember when I was little that I wore saddle shoes and absolutely loved them, but I outgrew them and my mom couldn't find any more because they were out of style. So I'm excited to relive the saddle shoes. I also got more cute clothes, like the blouse I'm wearing, and some jewelry and other stuff. It was so fun!

I love the blouse that I'm wearing! It was so cute and I decided that I had to wear it for Christmas with a skirt. And don't you adore these boots?! I just got them yesterday at Ross for only $15! I like how they're purple, my favorite color. You'll see much more of these boots to come, don't worry!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I know I did. I think it was a great Christmas because of all the family though. Presents are not happiness, and love is what matters. That's the true spirit of Christmas. :)

Getting Back in my Groove

I feel bad that I haven't been the happiest person this semester and that you readers have to be the ones to hear about it. I've been trying to be as happy as I can but it's definitely hard sometimes. But anyways, I'm not gonna write about that, I just wanted to say sorry and thank you! For reading my blog and following it and commenting and supporting me. I think this blog is the one constant that has kept me sane throughout this semester.

Today I really got in the groove of outfit picture taking again. It's been a while since it was like that but today I just kept taking pictures because it was so fun! I had a ton by the time I decided I should probably stop ha. I got this sweater-dress forever ago for my birthday, but I was waiting for it to get cold to wear it. Because it's too short to be worn as just a dress but earlier in the year it would have been too hot to walk around in this outfit. But it was definitely cold today!! Snow is everywhere and everyone walks (or slips haha) around all bundled up as fast as they can to not be in the cold as long. This is college in winter for ya. ;) These boots were good for walking around campus though, because they kept the snow out and they were warm. Besides the fact that I was wearing short sleeves, this was a very warm outfit, which was super nice.
