I bet some of you are just dying for an outfit post, huh? I know, I know, you all are just so obsessed with my life that not knowing what I wear every day is killing you. So sorry (especially if you really do feel this way haha). Well for none all of you wanting outfit posts, I'm gonna try and do them every Friday. It's not that I don't dress cute, I do! (at least I think I do) But I just haven't been taking pictures. And honestly, I really think that's okay. Outfit pictures are fun to take every once in a while though :)

I don't know if I've ever actually featured this dress on my blog before, but it was made by me (back in April)! The top came from a man's shirt and then I made the rest myself. It has a zipper in the back, the pictures just don't show it. You can tell the bottom isn't ironed very well, but I promise I spent forever on those pleats! This is probably one of my favorite dresses. It's a really cute color and I think it can be worn pretty casually or dressy. It also fits me very nicely as well.

At this point in my life, I've decided that what I really want to do "when I grow up" is fashion design, so I'm focusing on that a little more seriously this semester by practicing my illustrating skills. I'm also taking textiles, which means I'll know about every fabric out there, and patternmaking, which means that instead of just freehanding all of my designs and clothes that I make, I can do patterns for them and make them for other people as well! I'm super excited. Someday I would really like to sell my clothes so I'm trying to learn as much as I can about all of this!

But I just want to ask you, would you buy the dress above? And also, what kind of things do you look for in clothes you buy? I would absolutely love your honest opinions!

Bright, Bold, Blue

Friends, I am pleased to tell you that today I wore a yellow cardigan instead of that blue one! I don't think I would have worn it anyways, considering the fact that it would have been a lot of blue, but still it feels nice to do something different for a change. I would have taken pictures for proof but totally forgot to bring my cardi with me when I went to take pictures. But it's okay, the challenge continues for the week!

Now for a different topic, what do you feel when you see the color blue? I know it's often portrayed as a sad and mellow color, but wearing this bright blue today in my skirt made me feel empowered and noticeable. Blue is such a gorgeous and wearable color (take the navy blue cardigan for example) and I think sometimes we take it for granted that we don't notice it as much. It's in our jeans, jackets, school colors (for BYU anyways), and even in the sky for heaven's sake, that it tends to be a color that's just there, one that blends in with the rest of the crowd. I think something I would like to try doing more is making blue more noticeable, more of a statement color than just a "there" color. Can I do it? Can you/will you do it? Haha I sound like I'm speaking for charity or something, but really! This skirt has inspired me. You can never have too much blue :)

On Days of Birth

I wore this a while ago at home (parent's house) during Labor Day weekend I believe. That was the last time I went home and I'm going back this weekend! Yippee, I cannot wait. :) I'll be watching conference and also celebrating my birthday with my fam. Because guess what else: it's my birthday next week! I'm gonna be 20 years old in a week and it's freakin me out a little. To be honest, I'm a little scared for my birthday to come and here's why:

1. I don't want to have a sad birthday where no one remembers and it's just lame.
2. I'm not 20, nor do I want to be 20! I feel 19. I am 19. I will stay 19. I am NOT 20. My mom got married when she was 20 and I thought she was old. And now I will be 20. So as long as my birthday doesn't come I won't turn 20. (Too many 20s at one time, sorry, I will try to not burden you with that terrible number)
3. Once a birthday comes, it's over so fast and then you have to wait again until the next year. :( I like looking forward to it and looking forward to a happy day. And it's fun when it's here (unless it's not--see #1) but then it's gone and life is normal again.

But some good things about birthdays?

1. Well...I will be 20, which means people might consider me an adult. Might being the key word here. And being 20 means I will finally be the same age as all of the people in my grade, which will be nice.
2. Presents and cake and celebrations!
3. I really do love my birthday and it's such a happy day when it comes. A day that would have been completely normal becomes magical and special and a day of your own. I love the magic of birthdays and am grateful to live in a society that celebrates them.
4. My roommate (her birthday is the day after mine) and I will be throwing a Harry Potter party and it's gonna be the bomb. I mean it. :D

So..I'm torn. Either way though, it's going to come and I'll have to live with it, so I might as well be happy. :)

Also, thank you for the helpful comments about helping me feel better! I really appreciate them so much! I'm still a little sick (almost two weeks later!!) but am feeling almost all better. My voice just has a tiny bit of rasp to it but I can finally sing to the music in my car! I have to admit that not being able to sing at the top of my lungs was killing me. Goodness.

Just creepin...ha this guy kept moving around  and I was so worried he was just gonna move his chair back a tiny bit and wonder what in the world I was doing!

How fun! So yesterday I really was just wandering around the library aimlessly and honestly I'm not really sure why, but I guess I was searching for the fashion books but couldn't find them. Books tend to get lost in a big library like this. But then I realized it'd be the perfecto place for outfit pictures! Ah! So I stealthily snuck around until I found an aisle that pretty much no one was seated by. I snatched a stool and stacked books on it for a camera stand and started snapping those photos! There was this dude that was listening to his music but I was on edge because I was afraid he was gonna see me and be like, "Wait, what??" Now that I think about it though, I'm not really sure why I cared because he was kind of weird and not cute and I was never gonna see him again. Oh well. Anyways, the point of all of that was that it was really fun. Somehow, sneaking around and taking pictures in the library is a great way to spend your time. I'll definitely be doing it again soon and i'd recommend it to anyone who wants to try. Happy Wednesday! We're halfway through the week!

P.S. I felt pretty smokin' in these heels. Probably because I was a whole two inches taller and the heel wasn't super high so I could still walk in them. And they're also gold. I love these shoes. Just saying.... ;)

I'm SO Funny...Or in a Funny Mood..?

I really reallly REALLY like this color. Especially on me. Which is why I'm wearing it. ;) (I'm so funny huh?! ha ha.....ha. Ok enough.) Anyways, see the little white spots on the shirt in the second picture? Yeah. Well I wasn't gonna tell you the story, but in case someone asks...I worked at a day care last summer and had to change children's diapers and in between each change we had to spray the cleaning thing with bleach. And well, whaddaya know, I wore this shirt to work and got bleach spots on it. I was SO mad but I love the shirt and the color (see hilarious first line) so I still wear it and like it. The end. Haveaniceday. :)
