Miss Photographer

Sorry there are so many pictures! Okay, let's be honest, I'm not really sorry, because I had SO MUCH FUN taking these pictures! I found the railroad tracks and once I got started taking pictures I couldn't stop. It was super fun! I will never be a photographer, but I do love taking pictures and doing photography, so this blog is a great outlet for me to let that out every once in a while. I love the vintage feel of these pictures along with kind of the preppy look of the outfit. {Oh, the cardigan is black, although it may appear blue.}

The weather has been so perfect the past few days! Yesterday it didn't rain and there was a slight breeze but I felt fine in this outfit. And guess what?! If it's even possible, the weather is going to get perfect-er! Cuz it's going to be above 60 degrees today and tomorrow. And that is just simply amazing I tell you.

I've been into finding different artists than what I usually listen to (ahem, Carrie Underwood, cough cough) so that I can become more "musically cultured" and have more a range of music so that there will always be something for me to listen to for my mood. I just feel like I find genres and artists I like and then stick with just them. But there is so much music out there that I feel like I'm missing out on! Anyways, Mindy Gledhill has become one of my recent finds in artists. I particularly like the song called, "Whole Wide World" (I've been listening to it all day and it's still in my head!). I like songs that are inspirational and about dreams, because they just, well, inspire me! I want to go do something great after listening to them. This song does that to me, so I thought I'd share it with you. :) {Pssst....the family featured in here and the two little girls running in the front are Stephanie Nielson's family from NieNie Dialogues! Cool!!}

Oh and guess who has 102 FOLLOWERS?!! Yep, this girl right here! You peeps are the best. Really truly. In celebration, I'm thinking of having another giveaway soon. What do you think? Yes? (Btw to April Showers, the package got returned because the wrong address was on there but your package is on the way! ) I love you guys!

Apricot Lane Boutique Opening!

Okay, so basically I just have to say that I really LOVE boutiques. Like love them with a fiery-passion-burning-in-my-soul-that-you-could-roast-marshmallows-on-them type of passion. Yes. I just think they are so fun to walk around and look at and buy all the cute stuff! Boutiques are just SO cute and vintage-y! Love them!

Unfortunately there aren't a ton of boutiques in the Provo area, but fortunately for me (and all of you Provo-ans) there is a new boutique opening! Be excited! Apricot Lane Boutique will be opening up in Provo by the Riverwoods shops (like where Borders, Malawi's Pizza, Color Me Mine, and the Provo Beach Resort are). And guess what else? They're having a grand opening on April 8th-10th! As if the words "grand opening" didn't appeal to you enough, there's more! The store is gonna be holding a Grand Opening Sweepstakes where they're giving out shopping sprees worth $350, $100, and $50. Free money (if you win obviously haha)! And even if you don't win, they'll be having a 25% off storewide sale.

So basically, you need to check this place out. They sell apparel that come from brands that actual celebrities wear and also have lots of other clothes, accessories, and bags to match it all up with.

And in the end, it's a boutique. Do you need much more reason to go than that? I think not. I will be there sometime that weekend so you should be too! Yay! Go boutiques! (too bad they don't have boutique cheerleaders because I'm pretty sure I would totally make the team ha ;)).

For more info, their website is here. See you there!

A Makeup-less Pumpkin

The truth about these photos...
-they were taken at about 2 am
-I am wearing NO makeup (because I forgot that I hadn't taken pictures and obviously I wasn't going to put some on again just for that!)
-they're in our bathroom area--awkward?
-I was pretty tired (well, I am, as I write this post) while taking them
-The back of the skirt is pinned with a safety pin because it was too big to wear as a high-waisted skirt :/ The belt covered it up thankfully!
-I surprisingly really love these pictures, which is proof that perfection isn't everything. I really am shocked that I look totally fine wearing no makeup in these pictures! It makes me wonder why I take so long getting ready some mornings.
-Definitely one of my favorite outfits ever. I like the orange BAM! and the simplicity of the rest. I think it's perfect. And I got lots of compliments on it, yay!
-I am really happy in life right now, as stressed and as crazy and as sometimes downtrodden as I am. I really am quite content. :)

Smiley Face :)

I was pretty happy while I was taking these pictures. Okay...super happy. :D So I was like super smiley while taking them. It was just...a good day. :) We all have those, right?? :)

I actually didn't like this outfit a ton as I was wearing it but now looking at it in the pictures I like it a ton more. Especially the pink! It's such a perfect bright color. :) Do I have to say anything else about the outfit? Because I don't really want to haha. Honestly I just don't know what else to say!

...I love having a smiley face :)

P.S. I have 100 followers!! AH! Thank you :) That is definitely one of the reasons I'm so smiley! :D

Primary Colors

I'm just gonna say this now. I looked SO cute in this outfit! Yes, I'm bragging, and no, i don't care. I was going to wear a dress that I was trying to finish up sewing, but the tension kept messing up. And I saw this gem in my closet and knew it was time for it to be worn again. This dress is definitely becoming a favorite. Especially for being found at Ross for $3.50! Steal right?! I actually just added the red belt to the outfit and felt it was completely perfect the way it was. But it was kinda cold outside so I added my favorite blue cardigan for good measure. And actually I think I like it with the cardigan better. AH! I just really loved this outfit. I'm so so so so so glad I wore it and I'm so glad I took pictures of it. :)

Today is Monday, the start of a new week. Goodness time seriously flies. I feel like the weeks go by fast and then the weekends go by fast too. This semester has zoomed past! Last semester seemed to just drag on. I guess it's because I'm happier now? Either way, I know that I've had way too much of a blast this semester. I have the BEST roommates ever! We always have lots of fun and we get along super well. Sounds unreal right? Well, it's not! It's my life and it makes me so happy. And so did this outfit.

P.S. We made some of these delicious things last night. All I can say is YUM. Come visit me and maybe I'll give you one! More pictures here.
Mmmm....sooooooo good. yum yum yum!

Jealous much? You should be. Pretty much chocolate strawberries are the BEST. Yum!

Festival of Colors!

Yesterday I went with my roommates and some people from my ward to the Festival of Colors. It's so crazy fun! It's held once a year in Spanish Fork at the Hindu (i think?) temple in Spanish Fork. You go and they sell this colored chalk dust that everyone throws in the air and its gets everywhere and all over. Everyone wears crappy clothes because they get stained and gross afterwards. It was super fun to just throw chalk and get it everywhere. I felt like a little kid. ;) Afterwards, one of our friends brought a leaf blower from work and we blew off as much chalk as we could so the car didn't get super dirty. We put trash bags everywhere on the car so we didn't stain it. We came home though and we were just exhausted. We ended up walking (and kinda running ha) a lot because our car was parked like two miles or so away from the place because so many people went! So we just went home and chillaxed and watched chick flick. Oh goodness it was a great day. I love my roommates!

A Button-Up and Some Boots

I wore this outfit on Thursday I think? But it's being posted on Sunday just because. I think this weekend was a lazy weekend. Well maybe not. I wore cute stuff but I just didn't take pictures. Which actually, for me is super unusual. Even if I don't post them, I almost always take pictures. I still have some from like two weeks ago that I must post because I made the skirt! Next time I don't take pictures or don't wear a "cute enough outfit" (to my standards anyways) I will post that. It'll be soon friends, I promise.

Hmmm...not sure what else to say. Sundays are great. Don't you all love them? I think one of the best things about being LDS is the fact that you get to rest on Sundays. Some people complain about not being able to go to the store or not being able to do normal stuff on Sundays. And I definitely admit that I'm one of those people sometimes. But on days like today, I really appreciate the fact that we have to rest, even if it is forced. We all need some relaxation in our lives, no? So do me a favor and do something great for yourself today. Paint your nails, take a nap, cook, read, write in your journal, etc! And if you don't have time today make time this week. We will get exhausted and irritable if we don't learn to take care of ourselves every once in a while.

Have a wonderful relaxing Sunday! :)
