It Feels Good to be HOME

We got back from Wyoming a little less than an hour and ago and are tired but happy to be home. We had such a fun time and I wish we could have stayed longer! I love being with family. But I was thinking, and it'll be so nice to be in heaven after everything is all done and what a blessing it is that we can all be sealed together as families in this church. Because we won't even need to take vacations to see our relatives in heaven probably. They'll all be there with us and we'll be able to see each other whenever we want. Thinking about that makes me very happy. :) Here are some photos from our crazy fun trip.

Oh the Places I'll Go!

I just remembered this great poem/story and wanted to post it cuz it's definitely worth reading. I love it. :)

Oh! The Places You’ll Go!
by Dr. Seuss

Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

You’ll look up and down streets. Look’em over with care. About some you will say, “I don’t choose to go there.” With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you’re too smart to go down a not-so-good street.

And you may not find any you’ll want to go down. In that case, of course, you’ll head straight out of town. It’s opener there in the wide open air.

Out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you.

And when things start to happen, don’t worry. Don’t stew. Just go right along. You’ll start happening too.

Oh! The Places You’ll Go!

You’ll be on your way up!
You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll join the high fliers who soar to high heights.

You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed. You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead. Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

Except when you don’t.
Because, sometimes, you won’t.

I’m sorry to say so but, sadly, it’s true that Bang-ups and Hang-ups can happen to you.

You can get all hung up in a prickle-ly perch. And your gang will fly on. You’ll be left in a Lurch.

You’ll come down from the Lurch with an unpleasant bump. And the chances are, then, that you’ll be in a Slump.

And when you’re in a Slump, you’re not in for much fun. Un-slumping yourself is not easily done.

You will come to a place where the streets are not marked. Some windows are lighted. But mostly they’re darked. A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin! Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in? How much can you lose? How much can you win?

And if you go in, should you turn left or right…or right-and-three-quarters? Or, maybe, not quite? Or go around back and sneak in from behind? Simple it’s not, I’m afraid you will find, for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.

You can get so confused that you’ll start in to race down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space, headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.

The Waiting Place…for people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or No or waiting for their hair to grow. Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite or waiting around for Friday night or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil, or a Better Break or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants or a wig with curls, or Another Chance. Everyone is just waiting.

No! That’s not for you!
Somehow you’ll escape all that waiting and staying. You’ll find the bright places where Boom Bands are playing. With banner flip-flapping, once more you’ll ride high! Ready for anything under the sky. Ready because you’re that kind of a guy!

Oh, the places you’ll go! There is fun to be done! There are points to be scored. There are games to be won. And the magical things you can do with that ball will make you the winning-est winner of all. Fame! You’ll be famous as famous can be, with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.

Except when they don’t. Because, sometimes, they won’t.

I’m afraid that some times you’ll play lonely games too. Games you can’t win ‘cause you’ll play against you.

All Alone!
Whether you like it or not, Alone will be something you’ll be quite a lot.

And when you’re alone, there’s a very good chance you’ll meet things that scare you right out of your pants. There are some, down the road between hither and yon, that can scare you so much you won’t want to go on.

But on you will go though the weather be foul. On you will go though your enemies prowl. On you will go though the Hakken-Kraks howl. Onward up many a frightening creek, though your arms may get sore and your sneakers may leak. On and on you will hike. And I know you’ll hike far and face up to your problems whatever they are.

You’ll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)

Kid, you’ll move mountains!
So…be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ale Van Allen O’Shea, you’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!

Hope you enjoyed that! Have a happy day and climb high mountains! :) :)

I'm in Cowboy Country

Yay! We arrived safely here in Wyoming after our 6 hour drive yesterday. I LOVE IT HERE. It is so nice to be able to be here with family and play with cousins and just relax. Last night the adults went out for dinner to celebrate my grandparents' 49th anniversary, while all the cousins stayed home and watched the little kids. It was crazy. And fun. :) Today I went shopping with my mom and got some cute shirts and a new pair of shoes--we always find great deals here in Cheyenne every time we come! Later today I think we might be going with our cousins to see "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."

Tomorrow morning we're going to the Frontier Days parade, which is such a HUGE parade (I'm being super sarcastic). We just go every year for tradition, but the highlight of the parade is watching the horses poop on the road as they come by and laugh at the float with all the drunk people. That's Wyoming for ya. ;) It's so so pretty here though. I wish we didn't have to go home on Tuesday! :(

P.S. Still sick. :( And on vacation of all times! :( :( I think its getting worse...and to top it all off I have a canker sore as well as allergies cuz my grandma has dogs and I'm allergic. Go figure. :P Oh well, have a happy day! :)

Whispering, Wyoming, and Witches, oh my!

I'm sick. :( Poo. I have a bad cough that hurts and my voice comes and goes. Mostly goes though. It goes just above a whisper. :( I think I have a cold, but honestly, it doesn't really matter to me. I haven't taken any medicine and I know that sooner or later (let's hope sooner), I'll be all healthy again! Being sick is a regular part of life, especially mine, since I feel like I've gotten sick a lot lately.

On a happier note, tomorrow my family and I leaving for Cheyenne, Wyoming, a place I would most definitely call my second home. Most of my dad's family lives there so we stay at my grandparents' big house, play around with cousins, and just relax. Oh and go to Frontier Days too! We never actually try going specifically for Frontier days, but that always seems to be the only time we really can go every summer. It works out though, because it makes Cheyenne a little more exciting and gives us more to do. Seriously, you've probably never heard anyone talk this excited about Wyoming, but it's always a highlight of my year to go. I can't wait!

Just as another random update, I'm currently reading the Harry Potter series again, for the 10th time. I'm almost done with the 5th book, and then I'll just have two more to go! And I've already promised myself that I'm going to watch all the movies when I'm done reading the series. I completely admit that I'm a total HP nerd, but those books are so good. They get better with each one. If you haven't read them because you don't think you'd be interested or you don't want to jump on the bandwagon, do me a favor and READ THEM! My life would not be complete had J.K. Rowling never written those books, starting on a napkin in a coffee shop. Kudos to her! Guess I better go and finish that 5th book... ;)

Oh and have you seen the trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (#7)?!?! It looks soooo good! I put it on here so you could all see if you haven't already. I can't wait! You can bet I'll have midnight showing tickets to these movies for sure!!

Funny how things work out...

About a month and a half ago I tried out for a musical, something I haven't done for a long time, but I really have been wanting to do for a while. I got a call back, but I didn't make it. At the time, I was pretty bummed about it, but I decided to move on, because it obviously wasn't meant to be and I couldn't just sit around sad about it.

NOW I am so so grateful I didn't make that musical. I've had such a fun and relaxed summer, which I think is something I really needed. If I had made it, I would have been super busy going from work to practices and then getting home late at night. I wouldn't have been able to do all the fun things I've been doing lately, like going on adventures at night with my besties, going to Cali (probably one of my most favorite vacations i've ever taken), making a quilt out of all my old t-shirts, going to Wyoming this coming week, spending lots of fun time with my family, and lots more.

I still would love to do a musical in the future, but now wasn't the time. Heavenly Father is taking good care of me whether I like it or not. He always is. :)

Happy, sun-kissed, tan, and loving life

I'm back from Cali! Wow, best vacation ever. We went to Huntington, Laguna, and Santa Monica Beaches, and we also went to California Adventures and Disneyland. Oh it was so much FUN! I love California so much. So much that I want to live there someday. :) I took about 300 photos and am still editing and organizing them all, so I don't have time to put them up now, but hopefully I will later. And for all of you on facebook, just stay updated cuz I will post lots up on an album.

Next vacation: Cheyenne, Wyoming; leaving next Thursday, July 22. Can't wait!!!

I love Carrie Underwood :) :)

Oh my goodness, Carrie Underwood was AMAZING! Last night was one of the best nights of my life! Wow, I'll never forget it. I cried when she came on because I was so happy. Seriously, she's so inspirational and gives me so much hope! I love her! Here are some pics from Stadium of Fire. Man, I am so happy and had such a wonderful night!!

SO happy! :)

Now one of the best nights of my life is done :( But oh how happy I am! There will be another Carrie Underwood concert soon..and until then, I'll just keep listening to her songs every day and being her biggest fan. :D
